Stand Up. Speak Out, Stay Safe Children Safety Awareness Workshops
Introduction
PREVENTION – THE CURE
The worst fear for almost every parent is that their child will be abducted, assaulted or molested. We see violence against children in big cities and small communities, in parks, front yards, at school, and now, abductors are using the Internet to lure our children.
Although many people believe it will never happen to "my child", we should remember that statistics tell a different story. What are we as parents and responsible adults able to do to help protect children in this increasingly complex world? We want to believe that our children will always be safe, but if we don't teach them how to protect themselves, how would they know what to do when faced with a potentially dangerous situation? It is not enough to simply tell our children not to talk to strangers.

STAND OUT, SPEAK UP, STAY SAFE is an event to empower children to speak out and protect themselves. With the increasing number of missing and abused children, outLOUD Studios wants to step out and create social awareness regarding this matter.
Besides building confidence, these young participants will also learn basic self-defense.
This is also a personal safety and life skills educational program filled with hope, options, and realistic choices to escape violence. The program includes activities based on building confidence and self esteem so they truly gain the knowledge and confidence to make positive choices with their personal safety.
This event is planned for the school holidays in May 2009 in the Klang Valley. We aim to accommodate approximately 2000 children (aged seven-17).
During this event, the children’s confidence will be given a boost by the No.1 Motivator in Asia, The Guru of Confidence, Ernie Chen. There will be fun and interesting activities which will not only motivate but also arm them with confidence to face the real world.
Today, children make up approximately 22% of our population. We can be assured they make up 100% of our future.
